The establishment of the Problem Child Brewery in Parbold has indeed turned out to be a bit of a 'problem child'.

After months and months of wrangling and planning appeals, local authority permission has finally been granted (September 2012) to proceed with the brewery, which is to operate from a glass extension to the front of the Wayfarer Country Pub & Restaurant.

Rachel and Jonny Birkett are the brain-child behind the Problem Child. Work has now commenced upon the initial beer recipes and the ordering of a 5-barrel plant. It is hoped that the brewery will commence operation from early-2013.
